The Neurodivergent New Play Series Announces Fall 2024 Programming
Performing regularly in NYC since 2023, new full-length plays by openly neurodivergent playwrights will receive monthly readings at ART NY'S South Oxford Space in Brooklyn

The Neurodivergent New Play Series returns this Fall for the first readings of its 2024-25 Season to be held at the Great Room at ART NY’s South Oxford Space, located at 138 South Oxford Street, Brooklyn, New York. Performances are scheduled for September 15th, October 20th & November 17th at 2pm EST, with additional performances scheduled in early 2025.
For in-person entry, a minimum donation of $10 can be made at the in-person box office or online at www.ticketleap.events/tickets/neurodivergentplays/the-neurodivergent-new-play-series. Online attendees can donate any amount of $1 or more to watch either the livestream at 2pm EST or the On-Demand recording for up to two weeks after.

Dedicated to promoting neurodivergent empowerment since 2023, the Neurodivergent New Play Series kicks off its season on September 15th with a reading of Yahoo Boys, a full-length dramedy written by J. Corey Buckner. (Cross Roads: An Igbo Folktale, Finalist at the 2020 Bay Area Playwright's Festival; BLERDS, Semi-Finalist for the 2022 Bay Area Playwright's Festival) Directed by KM Jones, (The N Trial, SPARK Theatre Festival; Gray, SheNYC Festival) the play tells the story of Nigerian con men seeking to break into the theater in an attempt to steal from wealthy donors.
The season will continue on October 20th with a reading of Whitehare, a comedic horror-melodrama written by Adin Lenahan (The Bottom’s Bible, Dixon Place; Asher Rhys Got Married Too Young, Poetic Theater Productions) and directed by Em Hausmann, (And the Lights of the Borealis Were Shining, The Tank; The Very Last Dance of Homeless Joe, Theater for the New City) which revolves around the eerie presence of a monster born from the Internet. Finally, the NNPS will conclude its 2024 schedule on November 17th with a reading of altitude, a stoner comedy written by Daniel Prillaman (The Ashen Crown, Ghostlight Repertory Theatre; Art Duty, LakehouseRanchDotPNG) and directed by Annika Beth Nelson (Artistic Director of That Nameless Theatre Company) about the adventures of two friends who are left stranded on the road after their car breaks down.
Founded by award-winning autistic playwright and producer Anthony J. Piccione, the Neurodivergent New Play Series is dedicated to presenting matinee readings on the 3rd Sunday of every month - with seasonal breaks in December, January, July, and August - of plays written entirely by neurodivergent and disabled playwrights (i.e autism, ADHD, dyslexia, OCD, Tourette syndrome, etc.) as part of a growing resident company of playwrights whose interests and specialties span a wide range of subjects, genres & structural approaches, with each play personally selected from a neuroinclusive resident company of directors.
