Now Accepting Submissions from Filmmakers & Playwrights
Piccione Arts is now accepting submissions from filmmakers for the Talking It Out Virtual Arts Festival & neurodivergent playwrights for a new play reading series opening in Brooklyn in Fall 2023
For Filmmakers
The Talking It Out Virtual Arts Festival is now accepting submissions for the May 2023 Virtual Film Festival now until March 31st. This year, we will be considering films of various lengths and all genres to be screened online for Mental Health Awareness Month. All films must deal directly with the topic of mental health - this may include in the context of anxiety, depression, trauma, neurodiversity, dementia, etc.. At the end of the festival, paid attendees will get to vote on their favorite film with the top three winners to be announced at the end of the festival. There is no required submissions fee, although anyone who pays an additional $25 fee will see their film's trailer featured on our social media pages and in our email newsletter. To submit your film, please visit www.filmfreeway.com/TalkingItOut. Follow @talkingitoutfest on Instagram and Facebook for more updates.
For Playwrights
Piccione Arts is now accepting recurring submissions for a new play reading series for neurodivergent playwrights opening in Brooklyn, NY in September 2023. Submission slots are currently open for Fall 2023, Spring 2024 & Fall 2024 for playwrights who identify as being neurodivergent. (i.e. autism, ADHD, OCD, Tourette's, etc.) All submissions should be for full-length plays between 45 to 180 minutes long and may have received a previous reading or production outside of NYC, as long as they are unpublished. All neurodivergent writers at all stages of their careers are encouraged to apply - especially BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and female-identifying writers. There is no submission fee or any other fee for being involved in this process. Plays can be of any genre, although we are especially seeking works that challenge traditional methods of storytelling & have something important to say about the world that isn't being heard enough. We ask that you submit only one play every 30 days during our recurring submissions process. Learn more and submit your work at our official play submissions URL: https://form.jotform.com/223378604825057. Follow @neurodivergentplays on Instagram and Facebook to be among the first to hear our first major announcements this coming April.
